What we collect and why
Enquiries. When you use the contact form, email us or call, we collect the details you give us: typically your name, email address, phone number, the property address and a description of the project. We use this to respond to you, arrange a consultation or site visit, prepare a quotation and, if you instruct us, to carry out the work. The legal basis is that this processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract.
Website analytics and advertising. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking to understand how people find and use the site and to measure our advertising. These services set cookies and collect information such as your IP address, device, pages visited and how you reached the site. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and promoting our business; you can prevent this tracking through your browser’s cookie settings or Google’s opt-out tools.
Security and hosting. Our hosting provider keeps server logs (including IP addresses) for security and to keep the site running. This is necessary for our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where needed to deliver our service: with our hosting and email providers, our CRM and form tools, Google (for analytics and advertising), and, once a project is under way, with the architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and statutory bodies involved in your project. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a project are kept for up to two years so we can respond if you come back to us. Project records, including contracts, drawings, correspondence and certificates, are kept for at least twelve years after completion because of our legal and warranty obligations. Analytics data is kept in line with Google’s standard retention settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask for it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email info@alchemy-build.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
