Who we are
Founded in London, built on period houses
Alchemy Build is an independent construction company based in Marylebone, founded and run by Aaron Moore. We refurbish, extend and build homes across central London, and we take on commercial fit-outs, conversions and small new build schemes for developers, landlords and operators.
Most of what we have learned, we learned on period and listed buildings: how they were put together, how they fail, and how to add to them without losing what makes them worth keeping. That experience shapes everything else we do, whether the job is a Grade II townhouse in Maida Vale or a school converted into apartments.
We are a member of the Federation of Master Builders and carry public and employers’ liability insurance. Our project managers, site managers and long-standing specialist trades work as one team, so you deal with people who know your project rather than a call centre.

A single point of contact from first survey to handover. We coordinate the consultants, the specialists and the approvals so you do not have to.

Work is checked room by room against the drawings and the specification before we ask you to look at it. It is the standard architects expect and homeowners deserve.
Our process
Consult, design, build
Every project follows the same three stages. The point of the structure is that decisions are made in the right order, so nothing expensive is discovered on site.

Consult
A site visit and an honest conversation about the brief, the budget and the programme. We tell you early what planning, listed building consent, party wall or landlord approvals will be involved, and whether the idea is realistic for the money.

Design
Working with your architect and designer, or with ours, we develop a fully costed, buildable scheme, agree the specification and secure the approvals. You get a fixed price and a programme before anything is committed.
03
Build
A dedicated site manager, our own trades and long-standing specialists, weekly progress updates, and a finish checked room by room before handover. Aftercare continues once you have moved in.

Things people ask us first
Either. Most of our work is built to an architect’s or designer’s drawings, and we price from tender packages. Where a client comes to us without a design team, we can bring in consultants we trust, or introduce you to architects who suit the project.
Residential projects typically range from a single-floor refurbishment to whole-house schemes with basements, extensions and new roofs, at values from the low hundreds of thousands to well over £1m. Commercial work runs from a fit-out between tenancies to a small multi-unit scheme.
We give a fully itemised fixed price against an agreed specification. Changes are priced and agreed in writing before they are carried out, so you always know where the cost stands. Provisional sums are kept to a minimum and explained.
Yes. We prepare for and work within listed building consent, discharge planning conditions, and coordinate party wall surveyors so that the process does not hold up the programme.
Alchemy Build is a member of the Federation of Master Builders and carries public liability and employers’ liability insurance. Certificates are available on request.
Central and greater London, with most of our residential work in the prime central boroughs. For the right project we will travel further.
